The Flying E Ranch offers day rides twice a day to the public from October 1 to April 30 with no overnight stay required. Starting May 1, we offer only a morning ride at 8 AM  to beat the heat. Come and enjoy some of the best horseback riding in the area with our professional wranglers, who will guide you on one of the numerous trails winding through 20,000 acres of our historic, authentic cattle ranch. The Sonoran Desert is unique, with more than 2000 plant species that not only survive but thrive in this environment. This desert is the only place in the world you will see the famous saguaro cactus.

In the photo, our corral boss, Scott McGill, (left) and wrangler Bob Parker show off our famous and rare crested saguaro. They and all of our expert and friendly wranglers are anxious to share their knowledge with you about the beautiful flora and wildlife that inhabit this breathtaking landscape.

Come ride with us! Book now for your western adventure.

Riding Gear

We require horseback riders to wear long jeans/denim pants or riding pants (no shorts), high top boots with a heel (we have cowboy boots in all sizes to lend at no charge), a hat with a rim and stampede strings (we also have hats with strings to lend at no charge). Baseball caps may be worn only if you have a string to attach the cap to the rider. Riding gloves are optional. If you prefer a helmet, you will need to bring your own. We do not supply riding helmets.

Pantyhose, tights, long johns, or bike shorts under your jeans will help prevent chafing while racking up those miles in the saddle, and long socks are best for your feet while wearing boots. Remember that we are in the Sunbelt, so bring sunscreen (don’t forget to do the top of your hands!), sunglasses, a scarf or bandanna.
